We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing invoices, monitoring collections, and ensuring timely receipt of payments. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
- Process incoming payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card transactions.
- Monitor accounts for overdue balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and documentation.
- Prepare aging reports and provide updates on collections activities.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing and payment inquiries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support audits by providing required financial documentation.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of accounts receivable, collections,
bookkeeping, or related accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
