REPORTS TO: Actuarial Pricing Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will play a key role in supporting the organization’s pricing strategy and actuarial initiatives as we continue to build in-house expertise. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of pricing models, perform advanced actuarial analyses, and provide insights that drive profitable growth while minimizing adverse customer impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

- Develop and maintain actuarial models, including rate indications and segmentation models for multiple lines of business.
- Perform periodic rate and pricing reviews for all lines of business; provide quality recommendations and assist with implementation when required.
- Maintain, modify,



and validate predictive statistical models; interpret model results and communicate insights to leaders.
- Produce and analyze reports that monitor evolving trends in the book of business; recommend rating and underwriting actions based on observations.
- Contribute to developing management, financial, and actuarial data, models, or tools to support pricing and portfolio management.
- Develop and improve pricing algorithms and methodologies for products using up-to-date modeling techniques.
- Research, extract, and manipulate complex data from relevant sources; identify relationships, issues, and assess data quality.
- Monitor portfolio performance and market competitiveness using trend analysis and external benchmarks to ensure pricing quality and penetration.
- Analyze historical and external data to uncover patterns and insights that support product improvement and development.
- Collaborate with business partners to provide actuarial support for new product development.
- Maintain and update portfolio health metrics of all company’s products.
- Provide guidance and support to new and junior analysts as needed, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

- Minimum education of a university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics,



or another related field of study.
- 3+ years of actuarial analysis experience in the insurance environment.
- Actively pursuing ACAS or FCAS designation
- Completion of a minimum of 4 casualty actuarial exams.
- Experience working with predictive analytic tools and techniques.
- Experience in Python and R would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in business and user-friendly language.
- Process driven with ability to document, maintain and adhere to standards, procedures, and processes.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs and priorities.
- Exceptional planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Highly motivated work ethic and able to be self-directed to complete tasks.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
