We are looking to add a talented and hardworking Actuarial Analyst to our dedicated team of pension actuaries and consultants. This full-time role, based in Toronto, is ideal for a self-starter who is eager to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
A typical day in the life of an Actuarial Analyst involves performing data activities and actuarial calculations for a wide range of clients to support the valuation process and ensure compliance with plan and government requirements.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the best in the industry to deliver customized solutions to Eckler’s growing client base across Canada.

Responsibilities
Analyze and compile plan data for pension administration, actuarial valuation, and pension plan wind-up purposes
Examine and verify financial statements
Interpret pension plan documents and administrative policies
Complete pension administration calculations, produce employee benefit statements and file annual government reports and forms
Program and determine pension and benefit plan liabilities using actuarial principles and valuation technology and processes for a variety of valuation types (going concern, solvency, windup, accounting, conversions, projections) and a variety of funding methods, prepare gain and loss analysis and test cases
Value employer benefits liabilities under various plan design scenarios and for special costings
Draft client communications and reports with respect to data, benefit calculations, administrative functions, and actuarial valuations
Adhere to established quality processes and standards
What you offer
Post secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related discipline
0–2 years of relevant experience
Intent to pursue Fellowship with SOA/CIA (minimum 1 SOA professional exam is an asset)
Superior analytical skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel combined with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Demonstrated aptitude for computer programming considered an asset
Demonstrated ability to follow established standards/procedures
Self-motivated and skilled at solving problems independently
Ability to work in a team environment while managing multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Commitment to superior client satisfaction
