We are seeking a dedicated and energetic After-School Program Driver to join our team! Duties
- Safely operate 6-8 passenger SUV/vans to transport children to designated after-school locations and activities
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during transit, including seat belt use and adherence to traffic laws
- Assist children with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed for younger or special needs children
- Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, attendance, and any incidents that occur during transportation
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and program staff regarding schedules or any transportation issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report maintenance needs promptly
- Foster a welcoming environment by engaging positively with children during transit and promoting good behavior
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or community settings
- Multilingual abilities are highly valued; fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish enhances communication with diverse families
- Prior experience in senior care or customer service roles demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and mechanical basics for vehicle maintenance
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
- Teaching or writing skills can be beneficial for supporting educational activities or documentation efforts
