King Animal Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Animal Care Attendant to join our growing team!

We are a privately owned Equine and Small Animal Referral & Emergency Hospital located in King City, Ontario. Our 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility sits on 50 acres and provides advanced referral and emergency care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

As an ACA at KAH, you will play an important role in providing high-quality patient care while working alongside ACAs, RVTs, CSRs, ER DVMs, and Board-Certified Specialists in Surgery, Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Oncology, and Rehabilitation.

About the Role As an Animal Care Attendant, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting veterinarians, RVTs, and other medical staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries as required
- Safely restraining animals and assisting with medication administration under the direction of veterinary staff




- Providing compassionate and respectful care to animals throughout their hospital stay
- Feeding, watering, exercising, bathing, and providing basic grooming according to established protocols
- Walking dogs and providing appropriate exercise and enrichment
- Monitoring animal behaviour and health and promptly reporting concerns to veterinary staff
- Recording patient observations and care in Vet Radar electronic treatment sheets
- Creating a warm, friendly, and welcoming setting for clients and their pets
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting animal cages, examination tables, treatment areas, and rooms
- Completing general cleaning duties within your department, including laundry, dishes, and maintaining treatment areas
- Following all hospital infection prevention, cleaning, and disinfection protocols
- Developing knowledge of pet nutrition, veterinary services, medical procedures, and animal behaviour
- Performing other duties within the scope of the position as required

What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be a team player with a genuine passion for animal care and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements:

- Formal education and certification as an Animal Care Attendant, or equivalent experience
- Minimum one year of experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting
- Previous experience in a veterinary referral or emergency hospital is considered an asset
- Knowledge of basic veterinary medical procedures and terminology




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform physical duties including bending, stooping, standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
