Position: Appliance Service Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend work as required
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Appliance Service Technician to join our growing service team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and installing a variety of residential and light commercial appliances. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, professional with customers, and capable of independently troubleshooting appliance issues in the field.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial appliances
- Service refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, and other common appliances
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Identify failed components and determine appropriate repairs
- Remove and replace appliance components as required
- Complete appliance installations and replacements
- Test appliances following repairs to confirm proper and safe operation
- Provide customers with clear explanations of appliance issues and recommended repairs
- Prepare accurate parts and material requirements
- Maintain accurate service notes, photographs, and documentation for completed work
- Communicate with dispatch, management, suppliers, and customers regarding service calls
- Maintain an organized service vehicle and appropriate inventory of commonly used parts and tools
- Follow manufacturer specifications and applicable safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and professional work area while working in customers' homes or commercial properties
Qualifications
- Previous appliance repair/service experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals,
and manufacturer specifications
- Experience using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Solid understanding of electrical components, motors, pumps, valves, heating elements, sensors, and control boards
- Ability to work independently and effectively troubleshoot problems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to safely move and work around large appliances
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
- Appliance service, electrical, gas, or refrigeration certifications are considered an asset
