A progressive family- owned business requires a poultry layer assistant manager in the Haldimand area, who is interested in leading a team of dedicated passionate individuals. We are looking for an applicant who can demonstrate the ability to guide and co-manage staff in a energetic environment. The selected candidate will assist with the continuous improvement of procedures and operations. This position offers a competitive wage and benefit package.

- Responsible for operations of the farm, including welfare of birds
- Co-manage the bird shipments and bird placements activities
- Arrange for barn cleanouts (washing and fogging)
- Prepare and maintain documentation of activities from farm to processor
- Work closely with Manager to assist with hire, train and supervise staff
- Establish employee work schedules
- Purchase materials and misc. supplies
- Maintain The Animal Care program on Farm Food Safety Assurance Program
- Follow and enforce Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, including bio-security
- Maintain the grounds for appearance and safety




- Responsible for scheduling maintenance repair contractors for equipment and buildings
- Answer alarm monitoring calls day and night, alternating with Farm Manager
- Required to operate equipment as backup for employees

Qualifications:
- Management/Supervisory experience – 3 years
- Fluency in reading, writing and communication in English
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
- Highly motivated – team player
- Mechanical background an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
