Position – Assistant Vice President (AVP), Member Experience

We’re looking for an Assistant Vice President (AVP), Member Experience to provide strategic leadership across retail banking, dealer financing, small business banking, and community engagement.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the AVP, Member Experience will lead through influence, coaching, and empowerment. The successful candidate will build trust, inspire teams, think strategically, embrace innovation, and understand that sustainable growth starts with putting members and communities at the heart of every decision.

What You’ll Do

As the AVP, Member Experience you will:

Champion Member Experience

Build a culture centered on member advocacy, relationship building, financial well-being, engagement, loyalty, and retention. This includes monitoring member satisfaction metrics, feedback,



and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, resolving complex member concerns in a timely and skilled manner, ensuring service standards, policies, and member experience expectations are consistently achieved.

Develop People & Future Leaders

Coach, mentor, inspire, and empower branch and business development teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement. This includes supporting employee recruitment, onboarding, retention, engagement, career development conversations and succession planning.

Drive Sustainable Growth

Lead retail, dealer financing, and small business growth strategies, including deposits, lending, member acquisition, referrals, and market development.

Build Community Connections

Serve as a visible ambassador for the credit union, strengthening relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders while supporting financial literacy and community initiatives.

Champion Operational Excellence

Ensure strong service delivery, regulatory compliance, risk management, effective controls, and continuous process improvement.

Strategic Leadership

Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic planning,



organizational priorities, innovation, change management, and growth initiatives.

*This role will require the successful candidate to travel to our rural locations in Taber and Cardston Alberta.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for a strategic leader who combines creativity with business acumen. Our ideal candidate will have the following:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Leadership or a related discipline.
- Financial services designation (PFP, CFP, MBA, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
- Seven (7) or more years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, banking or credit union operations.
- Proven success leading teams and developing high-performing employees.
- Experience in retail banking, member experience, and business development.
- Strong knowledge of consumer and small business financial products and services.
- Experience balancing branch operations, sales, service delivery, and strategic priorities.
- Strong relationship-building and community engagement skills.
