Position: Attending Physician - Long Term Care Home
Reports to: Medical Director, with collaboration with the Administrator and Director of Care
About Cedarwood Village
Built in 1989, Cedarwood Village is a family-owned and operated, 90-bed Long-Term Care Home serving Simcoe, Norfolk County, and surrounding communities for more than 35 years.
Cedarwood Village is licensed by the Ministry of Long-Term Care and features beautiful courtyard gardens accessible to residents and families.
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Attending Physician to provide comprehensive, person-centred medical care to our residents.
The Opportunity The Attending Physician serves as the physician of record for assigned residents and works closely with residents, families’/substitute decision-makers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and the Medical Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessment, treatment, and follow-up.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized medical plans of treatment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident care.
- Respond to changes in residents' health status and provide appropriate medical direction.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident health records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families’/substitute decision-makers, and the care team.
- Provide or arrange reasonable after-hours and on-call coverage.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and leadership team regarding medical standards and protocols.
- Participate, where possible,
in quality improvement and clinical committees, including CQI, Infection Prevention and Control, and Professional Advisory activities.
- Follow applicable legislation, regulations, professional standards, and Cedarwood Village policies and procedures.
Qualifications The successful candidate must:
- Hold a current Ontario medical licence and maintain registration in positive standing.
- Maintain current medical malpractice protection.
- Meet applicable professional and Long-Term Care requirements.
- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Have an interest or experience in Long-Term Care, geriatrics, family medicine, or care of older adults.
- Demonstrate a commitment to resident-centred care, dignity, safety, and quality of life.
- Be available to provide or arrange appropriate after-hours/on-call coverage.
Hospital privileges at a local community hospital are encouraged where appropriate.

Pay: $63,781.71-$331,621.91 per year
