Automotive Technician / Apprentice

RS Vehicle Services is a small, family-owned automotive shop located in a rural community. We take pride in providing reliable, high-quality repairs and friendly service to our customers. We are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician with an Interprovincial Red Seal certification, or a motivated Automotive Apprentice who is eager to learn and grow alongside skilled professionals.

Position Overview The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicles. This role is well suited to someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

· Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on a variety of vehicles.

· Repair and replace vehicle components and systems, including brakes, engines, transmissions, tires, and electrical components.

· Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, tire service, tune-ups, and inspections.

· Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues accurately and efficiently.

· Test repaired vehicles to ensure safe and reliable performance.

· Install, balance, and service tires.

· Maintain accurate records of repairs, work orders,



and parts used.

· Follow all shop safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe work practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

· Interprovincial Red Seal certification preferred; automotive apprentices are also encouraged to apply.

· MVI tester certification is an asset.

· Ability to work safely, efficiently, and with robust attention to detail.

· Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.

· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required.

· Clean driver’s abstract.

Welding and torch experience would be considered an asset.

Compensation

Salary will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications, and license level.
