Responsibilities
- Safely operate AZ class trucks for cross-border freight transportation, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, identifying maintenance needs or safety issues promptly.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to plan optimal routes, manage schedules, and ensure timely deliveries across borders.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to maintain vehicle performance and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and customs paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and border authorities to facilitate smooth operations.
Skills
- Valid AZ commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading machinery.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for cross-border transportation.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations and documentation requirements for international shipping.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and border officials.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy equipment, and perform inspections regularly.
