This is an entry-level technologist position within the Mechanical Production team. The Junior Technologist is responsible for developing production methods, creating assembly work instructions, and supporting Manufacturing during the assembly phase. The role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and production teams while receiving guidance from senior technologists.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Recommend optimal assembly methods for simple mechanical components and assemblies .
- Interpret engineering concepts and clearly define assembly procedures within production routings.
- Create and maintain production work instructions according to approved processes.
- Support manufacturing operations during assembly and production activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to support the release and production of mechanical assemblies.
- Coordinate with:
- Production Planning
- Purchasing
- Project Managers
- Manufacturing Teams
- Other production support groups
Production Control & Quality
- Support production schedules by identifying potential risks and recommending contingency plans.
- Integrate rework procedures resulting from non-conformances (NCR, DIN, SNAG, DR, TNR, ECN) into work orders and track implementation.
- Ensure all work complies with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
Additional Support
- Assist senior technologists with ongoing project activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
Education
- DEC (College Diploma)
in Mechanical Technology or equivalent
Technical Knowledge
- Solid understanding of:
- Manufacturing techniques
- Mechanical production processes
- Mechanical assembly methods
- Mechanical assembly tools
- Experience working with:
- ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Production databases
- Microsoft Office Suite
Language
- Fluent French (spoken and written) required
- English is considered an asset
