BOOM TRUCK OPERATOR Competition #JCL158

We are seeking a qualified and safety-focused Boom Truck Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of boom trucks to transport, load, unload, lift, and place materials and equipment at various project sites. The ideal candidate will have experience working in construction, industrial, utility, or heavy civil environments and possess a solid commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

· Safely operate boom trucks in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable regulations.

· Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections.

· Load, transport, unload, lift, and position materials and equipment as required.

· Read and interpret load charts to ensure lifts are performed within rated capacities.

· Complete required inspection reports, logbooks, and other documentation.

· Work closely with riggers, signalpersons, supervisors, and site personnel to safely complete lifting operations.

· Conduct routine maintenance checks and report equipment deficiencies.

· Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and client requirements.

· Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and training programs.





· Maintain a clean and professional work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Valid certification for Boom Truck Operator in the province of NL.

· Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience operating boom trucks in construction, industrial, or heavy civil applications.

· Knowledge of crane load charts, rigging practices, and safe lifting procedures.

· Experience working around active construction sites and heavy equipment.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· High level of integrity and work ethic.

· Must have a valid class 3 driver's license and clean driver’s abstract.

· Must have valid Power Line hazards certificate.

· Other required safety training will be provided.

· Must demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of job-related tasks.
