WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead Maintenance Operations
- Oversee all maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, inspections, running repairs, service calls, and customer repairs.
- Ensure work is prioritized effectively and assigned according to technician skill level, workload, and customer commitments.
- Monitor workflow, capacity, and shop throughput to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure trailers move through the maintenance process safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of quality.
- Conduct daily operational reviews and facilitate pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities and performance expectations.
Manage Performance and Productivity
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians and maintenance employees.
- Drive technician utilization, labour efficiency, and quality performance.
- Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives.
Deliver Financial Results
- Manage maintenance operations within budget and support branch profitability objectives.
- Monitor labour, parts, sublet, and maintenance expenses.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure purchasing decisions align with company approval guidelines and financial controls.
- Review branch performance metrics and implement corrective actions where required.
Champion Safety and Compliance
- Foster a strong safety culture and lead by example.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and company safety requirements.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning.
- Support employee return-to-work and modified-duty programs when required.
- Ensure completion of safety inspections, audits, training, and compliance reporting.
Support Customers
- Ensure customers receive timely, professional, and high-quality service.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and effectively.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to support growth and retention of key accounts.
- Maintain a customer-first mindset while balancing operational and financial objectives.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in maintenance, transportation, fleet management, heavy equipment, logistics, industrial operations, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading teams and achieving operational performance goals.
- Experience managing budgets, costs, and operational KPIs.
- Demonstrated success driving productivity, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Qualifications
- 310J, 310T, Red Seal, or relevant technical experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of maintenance operations and repair environments.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
