PURPOSE: The Mill operator is responsible for breaking down the rubber by rolling it on the mill heating it. Once the rubber is at the desired temperature and texture, they deliver it to the calender for sheeting. They also compound material on the mill as required by router.
Reason for Hire: New position
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the rubber is broken down to the proper temperature and texture for sheeting.
- Monitor the quality of the rubber as they are rolling it
- Ensure rubber is free of garbage, debris and impurities.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Monitor bank on the Calender in order to deliver rubber in a timely manner
- Assist Calender operator and back-end operator with any tasks as directed
- Replenish materials as needed
- Weigh rubber totes on scale and write tags
- Complete all paperwork such as prestart audits, reports, etc...
- Ensure the requirements of ISO 9001 and Polycorp's QMS are conformed with.
Skills, Education,
Computer & Experience Required:
- Completed High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience
- Able to read, write and fill out production reports with accuracy
- Team player and can communicate effectively with co-workers
- Understands cost of quality and continuous improvement concepts
- Understands principles of product and service quality
- Crane certification (in-house training provided)
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Able to lift 50lbs
Please note:
- Polycorp is not located on a bus route. Reliable transportation is required.
- Candidates must be willing to do shift rotations including 12 hr continental day shifts
- Experience in a Calender or Milling Operations is preferred; however candidates who demonstrate a successful history of manufacturing experience and aptitude to learn will be considered.
