Job Summary

ConocoPhillips Canada is seeking a Part-Time Natural Gas Scheduler to join our Canadian Gas & Power team in Calgary. This position supports the day-to-day execution of physical natural gas transactions by coordinating scheduling, nominations, confirmations, balancing, reconciliation, and settlement activities across multiple pipeline systems.

This role serves as a key link between traders, marketers, producers, pipeline operators, accounting teams, and customers to ensure natural gas movements are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately. The successful candidate will combine strong operational discipline with commercial awareness to support our growing natural gas business.

The position is structured as a part-time opportunity, offering flexible work arrangements while maintaining responsibility for critical scheduling and commercial activities. Participation in scheduled after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage rotations may be required.Position Overview

What You Will Do

Scheduling and Pipeline Operations

- Schedule, nominate, confirm, and monitor physical natural gas purchases, sales, transportation, and storage transactions.
- Coordinate daily gas movements across major Canadian and North American pipeline systems, including NGTL, Westcoast Energy, TC Mainline, and SaskEnergy TransGas.
- Monitor pipeline bulletins, maintenance notices, operational restrictions, and system constraints.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution of transactions and resolution of operational issues.
- Manage transportation balances and support compliance with contractual obligations.




- Identify opportunities to optimize transportation and storage utilization while minimizing operational risk.
- Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage rotations as required.

Commercial Operations and Settlements

- Review and validate trade confirmations and transaction details.
- Verify pricing provisions and contractual terms associated with physical gas transactions.
- Resolve confirmation discrepancies with counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Support monthly invoicing, settlement, and accounting processes.
- Reconcile scheduled and actual volumes against contracts, pipeline statements, and accounting systems.
- Investigate and resolve volume, pricing, transportation, and settlement variances.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for commercial transactions.

Market and Commercial Support

- Maintain awareness of regional natural gas markets, transportation constraints, and pricing dynamics.
- Support traders and commercial teams with operational insights and market intelligence.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, transportation utilization, and commercial outcomes.
- Develop effective working relationships with customers, pipeline operators, service providers, and internal business partners.

Basic Qualifications

- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- 5 or more years of experience in natural gas scheduling, gas marketing, trading support, transportation, commercial operations, contracts, or a related field.
- Experience scheduling natural gas transactions on Canadian pipeline systems.
- Knowledge of natural gas transportation contracts, nomination cycles, and balancing requirements.
- Understanding of physical natural gas pricing and settlement processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience scheduling on NGTL, Westcoast Energy, TC Mainline, and SaskEnergy TransGas systems.
- Experience supporting physical natural gas trading and marketing organizations.
- Knowledge of transportation optimization and natural gas storage operations.
- Experience with ETRM, scheduling, contract management, or related commercial systems.
- Experience supporting pipeline accounting, invoicing, and settlement processes.
- Familiarity with industry pricing indices, exchanges, and market publications such as NGX, ICE, Platts, and S&P; Global Commodity Insights.




- Knowledge of major North American gas markets and pricing locations, including AECO, Station 2, Empress, Dawn, and other regional hubs.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

- This position is primarily performed in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- Frequent use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment is required.
- The role requires the ability to review detailed operational, contractual, and commercial information while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Occasional flexibility in work hours may be required to support pipeline nomination cycles, scheduling deadlines, operational events, and after-hours, weekend, or holiday coverage rotations.
- The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities while responding to changing market and operational conditions.
- Regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders is required through virtual and in-person communications.
