We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Full time Cashier to join our team in a busy Asian supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service, and supporting daily front-end operations.
Knowledge of Chinese is considered an asset, as it may assist in communicating with some customers and supporting POS product identification; however, it is not a requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately scan and process customer purchases using the POS system
- Handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment methods responsibly
- Ensure correct pricing, product identification, and receipt issuance
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Assist customers with general inquiries
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Follow store policies, cash-handling procedures, and safety guidelines
- Support other front-end duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (training provided)
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset but not required
