This position is primarily responsible for the service delivery of the organization, including direct programming to participants, community involvements and community outings, and personal support work. As an on-call staff, work is generally unpredictable and requires the employee to be available at any time of day, usually with short notice, to carry out their assigned duties.

Introduction The Casual / On-Call Support Staff position is primarily responsible for service delivery across the organization, including direct programming with participants, community involvement, community outings, and personal support work. This role provides coverage when regular staff are away or when additional support is required.

As an on-call position, work is generally unpredictable and requires flexibility and availability on short notice. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking casual hours while gaining meaningful experience in the developmental services sector.





The Casual / On-Call Support Staff is a valued part of the organization and works collaboratively with program instructors, management, and the broader CABLC team to ensure consistent, high-quality support for participants.

Compensation, Hours & Schedule: Employment Type: Casual / On-Call

Hours: Vary based on program needs; availability required on short notice

Wage Range: $22.00

Location: On-site at Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre

Duties and responsibilities:

Program & Participant Support

- Assist with all areas of program delivery, including but not limited to:
- Basic Culinary
- Recreation and Wellness
- Digital Innovation
- Expressive Arts
- Community Culture and Me
- Personal Support
- Provide direct support to participants during daily activities, programming, and transitions.
- Supervise lunch periods and participant breaks.
- Support participant arrival and departure to ensure safety and positive transitions.
- Assist participants with community involvement, outings, and volunteer activities.
- Adapt to changing schedules and participant needs while maintaining a calm and supportive presence.

Documentation & Administration

- Maintain client files and documentation according to CABLC standards.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics associated with program delivery.
- Ensure consistency of quality, accountability, and high standards across all programs and services.
- Follow CABLC policies regarding confidentiality,



health and safety, and information management.

Program Setting & Housekeeping

- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming program environment (e.g., sanitizing shared surfaces, tidying activity areas).
- Support daily organizational housekeeping duties as required.

Additional Requirements

- If transporting participants, maintain required insurance and a satisfactory driving record.
- Maintain a valid First Aid & CPR certification.
- Obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Provide any documentation required as stated in your résumé.

Knowledge, Education & Experience

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred but not required).
- College diploma or certificate in a related field (Educational Assistant, Developmental Service Worker, Personal Support Worker), or currently working toward such credentials, is an asset.
- Previous experience providing instruction, guidance, or structured support in educational, recreational, or community-based settings.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse populations while maintaining an inclusive and non-judgmental approach.
