Catch a Balloon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) / Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our growing pediatric team at our North York and Richmond Hill locations.
About Catch a Balloon
Catch a Balloon provides rehabilitative and educational services to children and adolescents ages 3–16 with diverse developmental needs. Our speech-language services primarily support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language delays, communication difficulties, and academic challenges.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Registered Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to implement individualized speech, language, and communication intervention programs.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment programs developed by the supervising SLP
- Provide one-to-one speech and language intervention to pediatric clients
- Support expressive and receptive language, articulation, social communication, and other communication-related goals
- Follow treatment plans and recommendations provided by the supervising SLP
- Document client progress and complete session notes accurately and on time
- Communicate professionally with supervising clinicians, families, and other members of the clinical team
- Participate in supervision, consultation, and team meetings as required
- Provide services in the clinic and, where applicable, through home visits
Qualifications
- Background in Communicative Disorders Assistance, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field
- CDA certification or relevant SLPA experience is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical or pediatric experience, ideally within a Canadian healthcare or pediatric setting
- Experience working with children with ASD, speech and language delays, and communication difficulties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, reliable, professional, and attentive to detail
- Ability to follow clinical recommendations and individualized treatment plans
- Passion for supporting children in developing functional communication skills
Position Details Job Type: Part-Time
Work Setting: In-Person
Locations: North York, Toronto, ON
Compensation
In-clinic sessions: $40–$45 per hour
Compensation for home-visit sessions is different from the in-clinic rate and will be discussed separately based on the nature and location of the home visits.
