Class 1 Line Haul Driver – Nightly Lloydminster/Edmonton Run

Defender LTL Inc. is hiring an experienced Class 1 Line Haul Driver for a scheduled nightly run between Lloydminster and Edmonton.

This position is ideal for a dependable professional driver who prefers a consistent route, steady work and being home each day.

Position Details

- Nightly round trip from Lloydminster to Edmonton and back
- Consistent, scheduled line haul work

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer between Lloydminster and Edmonton
- Complete nightly terminal-to-terminal freight runs
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Complete electronic logs and required transportation documents
- Ensure freight and equipment are properly secured
- Assist with coupling, uncoupling and trailer switches
- Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding delays, equipment concerns or freight issues
- Follow Defender LTL’s safety policies and all applicable transportation regulations
- Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers, terminal staff and other drivers

Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence
- Clean or reasonably clean commercial driver’s abstract




- Previous tractor-trailer and highway driving experience
- Experience operating during nighttime and winter conditions
- Strong understanding of hours-of-service requirements
- Able to complete required freight handling and physical duties
- Dependable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to pass any required pre-employment screening
- LCV certification is an added bonus (or at least the desire to acquire it)

LTL, line haul, freight-handling and terminal experience are considered assets.
