As a Claims Defence Legal Counsel, your primary responsibility will be to manage litigation from start to finish, with a focus on delivering superior legal services. You will utilize your seven years of experience to draft essential legal documents and assess liability following thorough examinations. This role also requires attendance at court and tribunal hearings, fostering collaboration and sharing legal knowledge among the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently manage and resolve a litigation case load • Defend against a variety of insurance claims • Provide detailed assessments on liability and damages • Draft pleadings, motions, and opinions • Engage in court proceedings and examinations for discovery
Requirements: • Juris Doctor or Bachelor's degree in law • Minimum seven years of insurance defence litigation experience • Valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario • Experience in trials and arbitrations is essential • Competence in drafting and legal assessments
