Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Class 1 Driver specialized in handling NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) and Butane. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate heavy-duty vehicles, including tankers designed for hazardous materials, while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. As a vital part of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting these valuable commodities efficiently and securely, contributing to the seamless supply chain operations.

Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, freight handling, and automotive repair will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of safety and service.

Duties

- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles equipped for transporting NGL and Butane, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles and tankers to ensure optimal operation and compliance with hazardous material transportation standards.
- Load and unload freight with precision, utilizing forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring secure cargo placement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks; troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with automotive repair specialists when necessary.
- Follow strict safety procedures during loading, transit, and unloading processes to prevent spills or accidents involving hazardous materials.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers,



warehouse personnel, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve operational issues promptly.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving of hazardous materials.
- Certification in forklift operation is highly desirable; ability to operate heavy equipment safely is essential.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures, including secure loading/unloading techniques for hazardous liquids like NGLs and Butane.
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics to identify mechanical issues early and ensure vehicle safety standards are met.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to the transportation of hazardous materials, including proper documentation and emergency procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads, climbing into trucks, and conducting inspections regularly.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to safety compliance and operational efficiency.
