The Role
We are looking for a Client Solutions & Sales Support Manager to join our team. This role will work closely with the CEO and broader Practico team to support the delivery and ongoing management of client insurance solutions.
The primary focus of the role will be to provide operational and analytical support across the sales and client lifecycle, including new business, renewals, policy administration, insurance modelling, premium financing, credit coordination and implementation.
This is an opportunity for someone who is highly analytical, organized and comfortable working across multiple areas of the business. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, lenders, insurers, actuaries and internal stakeholders to ensure client solutions are implemented accurately and managed effectively.
The role is intended to help free up senior leadership capacity for business development and sales while ensuring clients receive consistent and high-quality support throughout their relationship with Practico.
Key Responsibilities
Client Solutions & Sales Support
- Support the CEO and sales process by coordinating the operational aspects of new client opportunities and existing client relationships.
- Assist with developing and implementing client solutions based on the client's financial position, objectives and insurance needs.
- Participate in client meetings and assist with explaining proposed solutions, processes and next steps.
- Manage the collection, organization and tracking of client information from the initial application through to policy issuance and implementation.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and other stakeholders throughout the process.
- Conduct and support annual client reviews and policy anniversary discussions.
- Identify changes in client circumstances, needs or objectives and bring relevant items forward to the CEO for discussion.
- Respond to client questions and coordinate with the appropriate internal or external stakeholders to resolve issues.
Insurance Policy Management & Renewals
- Coordinate new insurance applications and policy placement activities.
- Manage annual policy renewal processes,
including communicating renewal details to clients and lenders.
- Coordinate insurance premium financing and renewal activities with lenders.
- Liaise with clients, lenders, insurers and other stakeholders throughout the renewal process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and policy records.
- Coordinate administrative changes to client insurance policies as required.
- Ensure all required documentation and information is collected and maintained.
Credit & Premium Financing
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with lending partners.
- Track financing applications through approval, policy issuance and funding.
- Follow up with clients, lenders and third-party providers to obtain outstanding information.
- Review term sheets and assist with loan renewal and collateral coordination.
- Monitor relevant interest rate movements and other market factors that may impact financing solutions.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate financing and flow-of-funds information.
Insurance Modelling & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain Practico's proprietary insurance models for new and existing client files.
- Ensure client insurance models are accurate and kept up to date.
- Assist with modelling and analysis related to insurance solutions, financing and client scenarios.
- Update models to reflect changes in interest rates, tax rates, insurance products, assumptions and client circumstances.
- Work with external actuarial firms and other advisors where additional analysis or opinions are required.
- Assist with sensitivity analysis and other financial modelling as required.
- Implementation & Operations
- Support the implementation of new client solutions from approval through to completion.
- Coordinate information and deliverables between clients, insurers, lenders, actuaries and other service providers.
- Track outstanding items and follow up as required to keep client files moving.
- Assist with improving internal processes, documentation and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure client information and records remain complete and accurate throughout the client relationship.
Other Responsibilities
- Stay current on relevant insurance industry regulations, standards, products and practices.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
- Take on additional responsibilities as the business grows and the needs of the team evolve.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree, diploma or equivalent education in accounting, finance, business, actuarial studies or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation or relevant accounting experience is considered an asset.
- Insurance industry experience is an asset but not required.
- Experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial services, client management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial information and models.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working directly with clients, lenders and other professional stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on deadlines.
- Solid computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Self-motivated, resourceful and comfortable working independently.
- Willingness and ability to obtain the required insurance licensing.
Insurance Licensing The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate LLQP insurance licensing, including licensing in Ontario and British Columbia. Existing licensing is considered an asset, but candidates who are not currently licensed may be considered if they are willing and able to complete the required licensing.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is analytical, curious, practical and willing to learn. You don't necessarily need to come from the life insurance industry. The ability to understand financial concepts, learn quickly and take ownership of work is more important.
This role will work across a number of different areas, so flexibility and a willingness to get involved in different parts of the business are important. You should be comfortable working independently while also knowing when to ask questions or bring something forward for discussion.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $145,000
- Bonus opportunity based on individual and company performance
- Extended health benefits, where applicable
