Position Overview
Frame For Less is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to support the production of custom framing components and help improve manufacturing efficiency as the business grows. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring computer numerical control (CNC) equipment used in the cutting and fabrication of framing materials and related components.
This role requires technical ability, precision, attention to detail, and the capacity to support production workflow in a custom framing environment. The CNC Operator will work closely with the production team to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines used in the production of custom framing components
- Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, measurements, and production specifications
- Measure materials and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and conformance to required tolerances
- Prepare materials for cutting, shaping, or finishing according to job requirements
- Perform machine adjustments and tool changes as needed during production
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout the production process
- Identify and report defects, deviations, or equipment issues to management
- Maintain production records and complete basic inspection or job tracking documentation
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of CNC machines and related equipment
- Assist with workflow improvements to support production efficiency and business growth
- Work with other team members to meet deadlines and production targets
- Maintain a clean, safe,
and organized work area
- Follow workplace safety procedures and equipment operating standards
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience operating CNC machines or similar production equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, woodworking, or custom production environment is preferred
- Experience working with precision measurements and quality control procedures
- Experience in a custom framing, millwork, cabinetry, or finishing environment is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Education
- Secondary school diploma required
- Related training in CNC operation, machine operation, manufacturing, or a similar field is an asset
- Equivalent hands-on industry experience may be considered
Technical Skills
- Experience operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines
- Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and specifications
- Knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
- Ability to verify product dimensions and maintain quality standards
- Basic computer skills for production records and machine interface use
- Familiarity with production tools and shop equipment
