- Position is Sunday to Thursday 10:00am to 6:00pm
The successful candidate will work with our Canadian Customs Operations Team, to process the release of shipments via truck, courier, rail. Previous customs brokerage is REQUIRED
After 3-month probationary period, this will be a hybrid position (3 days in the office and two remotely)
Operations Responsibilities (included, but not limited to)
-Work with Customs Operations Team to process the clearance of shipments, crossing at all ports across Canada.
-Process clearances using Single Window Initiative and IID
-Analyze shipment documentation to determine the correct importer of record, along with the applicable tariff, duty and tax rates
-Communicate with carriers and Canada Border Services Agency to see that shipments are set-up for customs clearance.
-Prioritize and complete work according to client demands, customs requirements and Customs Operations Team operating procedures
Qualifications
· Ideally, 1 – 2 years employment within the industry;
· Proficient in Microsoft Office;
· Keyboarding skills
· Ability to handle large volumes of work accurately;
· Strong organizational skills;
· Strong problem-solving ability;
· Ability to work independently;
· Ability to prioritize work & time management skills;
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
· Effective communication skills
