Professional Dance Teacher / Choreographer

Overview

Mulan Dance Studio is seeking a professional, experienced, and passionate Dance Teacher / Choreographer to join our team.

We are looking for a teacher with a strong professional dance background who can independently teach structured dance classes, provide proper technical training, and create original choreography for competitions, stage performances, and studio productions.

Candidates with professional ballet training and ballet teaching experience will be given preference.

The ideal candidate should be able to work with students of different ages and skill levels, develop their technique, musicality, artistry, and stage presence, while maintaining a positive and skilled learning environment.

We highly value strong dance technique, teaching ability, creativity in choreography, classroom management skills, professionalism, and reliability.

Responsibilities

- Independently plan and teach structured, high-quality dance classes
- Provide professional dance technique and foundational training
- Correct students’ technique, posture, alignment, coordination, flexibility, and performance quality
- Create original choreography for dance competitions, stage performances, and studio productions
- Adapt teaching methods and choreography to different ages and skill levels
- Prepare students for competitions and performances, including cleaning choreography, formations, musicality, and stage presentation
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to help students develop technique, confidence, and artistry
- Maintain good classroom discipline while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment
- Collaborate with the Studio Director and other instructors on training, choreography,



rehearsals, and performances
- Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, reliability, and punctuality

Qualifications
- Skilled dance training or a strong dance education background is required
- Professional ballet training and/or ballet teaching experience is strongly preferred
- Previous dance teaching experience
- Strong independent choreography skills
- Ability to independently teach and manage a full dance class
- Strong understanding of dance technique, musicality, artistry, and stage performance
- Experience teaching children and teenagers
- Ability to create age-appropriate choreography while maintaining strong technical and artistic standards
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Responsible, patient, energetic, and passionate about dance education
- Experience preparing students for dance competitions and stage performances is a strong asset

Preferred Dance Background Experience in one or more of the following styles is preferred:
- Ballet – strongly preferred
- Contemporary
- Jazz
- Lyrical
- Acro / Dance Acro

What We Are Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can simply lead a recreational dance class.

We are seeking a professional dance educator and choreographer who understands how to systematically train students, correct technique, develop strong dance foundations, and create high-quality choreography for competitions and performances.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
