The Database & Enterprise Systems Specialist is responsible for the operation, design, development, and integration of Innovasea’s internal data systems, enterprise applications, and corporate reporting platforms.
The role ensures that data flowing across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), planning, and reporting systems is accurate, maintainable, secure, and operationally useful for the business. This position supports business decision‑making, reduces manual effort, identifies data integrity and process gaps, and ensures enterprise systems meet operational, financial, and compliance requirements.
The role supports Innovasea’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) by ensuring systems and data are designed, implemented, and operated in accordance with approved security policies and controls, protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
What you'll be doing
Scope of Responsibility
- Corporate, operational, and financial reporting
- Internal applications, reporting platforms, and automation tooling
- Data pipelines, system integrations, and scheduled workflows
- Enterprise databases and data models
- Enterprise platforms, including:
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - SYSPRO
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - Salesforce
- Corporate performance management (CPM) - Workday Adaptive Planning
- Atlassian tools
- User access, permissions, and secure system operation
Key Responsibilities
Reporting, Analytics & Data Automation
- Design, build, and maintain corporate, financial, and operational reports used by Finance, Operations, Sales, Production, and leadership
- Work directly with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable, well‑defined technical solutions
- Identify reporting gaps that reveal underlying data or process issues and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them
- Architect and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines to streamline data integration and ensure the availability of high-integrity data for enterprise-wide business intelligence
Internal Platforms & Maintainability
- Maintain and evolve internal reporting and application platforms to ensure scalability, usability, and long‑term sustainability
- Refactor legacy code and data access patterns where appropriate to reduce technical debt and improve maintainability
- Implement features that improve discoverability, access control, and responsible lifecycle management of internal tools
- Balance delivery speed with long‑term maintainability in a resource‑constrained environment
Enterprise Systems Data Integration
- Design and maintain data integrations between enterprise platforms, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), planning, and reporting systems
- Implement validation and safeguards at integration boundaries to prevent incomplete or invalid data from entering systems of record
- Maintain and enhance integration processes as business requirements evolve
- Troubleshoot and resolve cross‑system data and integration issues
Database Engineering & Data Management
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases, primarily on Azure SQL Server
- Perform schema design, data modelling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning to support reporting and operational workloads
- Develop and maintain reusable database views, functions, and access patterns to improve consistency and long‑term maintainability
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across transactional, reporting, and analytical systems
Operations, Security & Compliance
- Support internal users by troubleshooting system, application, and reporting issues using approved IT and security procedures
- Maintain technical documentation required for operational continuity and audit support
- Provide technical input and evidence to support internal and external audits
- Evaluate technical, operational, and security impacts prior to implementing system changes
Authority
- Authorized to design, implement, and maintain approved databases, integrations, reporting, and automation solutions
- Authorized to configure user access, permissions, and system behavior within approved security controls
- Not authorized to approve security policy exceptions or accept information security risk
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years related work experience in IT service & support environment
- University degree or college diploma on databases and computer programming
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure database services (Azure VMs, Azure SQL Database, and configuration)
- Experience with Salesforce Flow
