Part-Time Dental Assistant / Floater

Westmount Dentistry on Wonderland is looking for an experienced, reliable, and patient-focused Dental Assistant / Floater to join our family-friendly dental team.

About the Position

We are seeking a flexible Dental Assistant who can float between our Blue Heron Dental Centre location and our sister office. This is a part-time position requiring minimum of 3 days per week, including one Saturday per month at our sister location. The successful candidate will assist the dental team, support day-to-day clinical operations, and help ensure a smooth and positive experience for our patients.

Responsibilities

- Assist the dentist during examinations and clinical procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed and in accordance with applicable standards.
- Welcome and seat patients, review medical and dental histories, and ensure patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Follow all infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols and office policies.




- Support sterilization and instrument reprocessing procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the dental team across both locations.
- Create a welcoming and comfortable experience for patients of all ages.

Qualifications
- Experience required – previous dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
- HARP certified – required for taking dental radiographs.
- IPAC certified – current infection prevention and control certification.
- CPR certified – current CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different office environments.
- Experience with Tracker dental software is an asset.
