DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST

The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the execution of digital campaigns for clients. This includes managing email marketing, landing page development, and paid media campaigns. This role has a specialized focus on web development, taking on more advanced landing page builds involving custom coding, partnering with internal teams on digital campaign reporting, and bringing a robust understanding of how digital systems interact, including event tracking and data passthrough between platforms.
This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams (Client Relationships, Creative, Data, Insights) and external stakeholders (developers, media vendors, and clients). The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in digital marketing, project management, and a passion for delivering high-quality, mission-driven work. This role also contributes to the development and refinement of new and existing digital services and supports strategic initiatives such as Affinity Survey work that informs client engagement strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Digital Strategy o Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define campaign requirements and manage projects from inception through to launch o Stay up to date with current market trends, conduct regular competitor scans and inform Strategists on new opportunities for upcoming campaigns
· Email Campaign Management o Develop email campaigns using various platforms such as Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Luminate and Raiser's Edge NXT and utilize standalone email building tools such as RGE Studio where applicable o Build email journeys/automations and integrate data flow tools such as Zapier to ensure a smooth user journey from collection to campaign delivery o Own the quality control process with the Account Manager and be responsible for ensuring a successful deployment o Collaborate with Account Directors to ensure the segmentation approach is aligned with campaign objectives
· Landing Page Creation o Build and customize campaign landing pages using various CMS platforms like WordPress and HubSpot o Work with donation platforms such as Blackbaud, Fundraise Up and AKA Raisin and integrate them into CMS platforms o Understand platform limitations and share back with Account and Creative teams to influence the final landing page layout and design o Write custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build and extend landing pages beyond standard CMS drag-and-drop templates and themes
· Paid Media Management o Launch and manage paid advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google, Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn,
and Pinterest.
o Work with third-party media vendors to ensure campaign alignment and performance.
· Tracking & Reporting o Implement UTM parameters and ensure accurate data flow into tools like Google Analytics and CRMs to allow for detailed reporting o Set up and troubleshoot conversion tracking (e.g.
Google Tag
Manager, Meta Pixel/Conversions API, LinkedIn Insight Tag) for media campaigns o Partner with internal teams on digital campaign reporting, including dashboard builds o Continuously monitor campaign performance, share high level findings with Account Team and identify opportunities for optimization
· Digital Innovation o Participate in the development and rollout of new digital offerings and contribute to the enhancement of existing services
· Strategic Support o Assist in the execution and analysis of Affinity Surveys and other strategic initiatives that inform client segmentation and engagement strategies.
DAY-TO-DAY TASKS
· Build and schedule email campaigns.
· Create and test landing pages.
· Write custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for landing pages.
· Launch, monitor and optimize paid media campaigns.
· Set up and QA conversion tracking for paid media campaigns.
· Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
· Join internal and client meetings to provide digital expertise.
· Track campaign performance and prepare reports.
· Contribute to planning and implementation of new digital initiatives.
· Support Affinity Survey deployment and data analysis.
MUST HAVES
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in digital marketing.
· Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines.
· Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience customizing landing pages beyond standard CMS themes.
· Proficiency in platforms such as Mailchimp, Luminate, Raiser's Edge NXT, Fundraise Up, Salesforce Marketing Cloud
· Experience working with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, ad manager platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads) as well as knowledge in tracking setup and conversion events
· Strong understanding of web technologies and digital marketing best practices.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
ASSETS
· Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
· Familiarity with accessibility standards and digital compliance.
· Knowledge of SEO/AEO, website audits and conversion rate optimization.

Salary Range: The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 – 70,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision care, 3 weeks' vacation plus an additional 9.5 Blakely days off (half day Fridays before each long weekend and the office is closed for one week at the end of December each year).
Location: This is a location-flexible work from home position, within Canada. Must be available during core Eastern Time business hours (9:00am – 5:00pm). Maintaining a good working relationship is key to success, so we gather our entire team together 3 – 4 times a year in Aurora, ON.
There will be department meetings or 1 on 1 meetings with your manager in person required throughout the year. For those that live 150KMs or more away from Aurora, ON we cover all travel expenses in line with Blakely’s travel policy. In addition, if you are in a client facing role, there will be in person client meetings required, dependent on the client and Blakely needs, with reimbursement for travel based on Blakely’s travel policy.
