Pay Grid: Salary Range 1 ($41,600.00 to $54,600.00 per year)

Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Manger of Childcare Services the Early Childhood Educator Assistant ensures the well-being of all children and provides support with the educational program delivery.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

- Implement & lead programs and activities for children.
- Provide quality care by guiding, encouraging, and supervising children both indoors and outdoors, ensuring children’s safety and well-being at all times.
- Ensure all operational policies are followed in accordance with the Provincial Child Care Licensing Board, and Community Care Facility Act.
- Assist Early Childhood Educators to plan, facilitate and assess developmentally appropriate, activities and experiences in harmony with the center’s philosophy.
- Ensure guidance of children’s behavior that encourages positive self-concept.
- Keep up to date with early childhood education and advocacy developments.




- Assist in housekeeping duties to ensure facilities and equipment are neat, safe and clean/sanitized.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

- Previous experience is an asset, performing responsibilities listed above including case management, social work/social welfare, family studies, infant mental health, early childhood development, and/or special education
- Minimum certification as a Responsible Adult or Early Childhood Educator Assistant
- Understanding of Lil’wat culture & language an asset
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams
- Motivated self-starter and with solid interpersonal skills
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the center’s children, their parents, and staff
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
