Hillview Master Builder is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team in Edmonton. This role is responsible for preparing detailed estimates and budgets for custom homes, luxury residences, large-scale renovations, garages, cabins, and specialty construction projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, trade scopes, and current market pricing. They will work closely with clients, designers, suppliers, project managers, and trade partners to develop accurate budgets and maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction estimates from architectural plans, engineering drawings, and design specifications.
- Perform detailed takeoffs for all building components.
- Develop budgets for custom homes ranging from standard custom builds to high-end luxury residences.
- Evaluate design changes and prepare revised pricing throughout the design and construction process.
- Review drawings and specifications for completeness and identify missing scope or cost risks.
- Generate preliminary budgets during the design stage and update costs as selections are finalized.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating combined with strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software which we are currently looking to up-grade
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials pricing, and bid preparation.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Construction experience across various sectors is preferred.
