`Experienced Carpenter / Labourer

Lamacraft Construction is a Calgary-based deck and fence construction company specializing in high-quality custom decks, fences, and outdoor carpentry projects.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and reliable Carpenter / Labourer to join our team. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up ready to work, pays attention to the details, and wants to build a long-term career in the construction industry.

We are looking for more than just someone who can swing a hammer. A good attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in your work are extremely significant to us.

Piecework opportunities are also available for qualified and experienced contractors.

What You'll Be Doing

- Building and installing decks, fences, stairs, privacy screens, and other outdoor structures
- Measuring, laying out, cutting, and installing materials accurately
- Working with pressure-treated lumber, cedar, composite decking, PVC, and other exterior building materials
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assisting with demolition, excavation, material handling, and site preparation
- Working with the crew to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard
- Reading and understanding basic plans, measurements, and layouts
- Identifying problems on site and helping find practical solutions
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional job site
- Following all company and job-site safety procedures

What We're Looking For Experience is important. Previous experience in residential construction, carpentry, fencing, decking, or landscaping is required.

The ideal candidate

- Has hands-on experience building fences and/or decks
- Can accurately measure, cut, level, square, and lay out work
- Is comfortable using common construction tools and equipment
- Can work independently when given direction
- Takes pride in producing clean, quality work
- Has a strong attention to detail
- Is dependable and shows up on time
- Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic




- Works well as part of a small team
- Is willing to learn and improve their skills
- Can communicate clearly with coworkers and customers when required
- Takes responsibility for their work rather than making excuses when something goes wrong
- Has good physical stamina and is comfortable working outdoors in Calgary's changing weather

Requirements

- Previous construction/carpentry experience required
- Experience with fence and/or deck construction strongly preferred
- Valid Canadian driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Able to safely operate common hand and power tools
- Able to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
