LTR Contracting Corp. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Raker / Rakerman to join our paving crew.
We are looking for someone with proven asphalt paving experience who understands how to properly rake, shape, and finish hot mix asphalt. This position requires someone who can work efficiently alongside the paver, screed operator, roller operators, and the rest of the paving crew to produce a clean, qualified finished product.
Responsibilities
- Operate raking tools and assist with the spreading of asphalt during paving operations
- Use heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, or pavers to support paving activities
- Ensure proper compaction and leveling of asphalt surfaces according to project specifications
- Collaborate with crew members to maintain workflow efficiency and safety standards
- Prepare work sites by setting up barriers, signs, and safety measures before paving begins
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Follow all safety protocols and construction regulations throughout each project phase
- Assist in other labouring requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an asphalt raker or rakerman in construction or paving projects
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation related to paving activities
- Hands-on experience with asphalt laying, grading, and compaction techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials as needed
- Construction experience with a focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving
