Jb Summary:

The Family Cnnectins Wrker prvides supervised visits, as well as utreach with assessments, planning, and implementatin f Service Plans with clients f the prgram. The psitin aids the client in identifying, understanding, and vercming persnal/family prblems, and in establishing and achieving realistic gals.

Yur Rle:

Archway’s Family Cnnectins Wrker with the Family Cnnectins Prgram cntributes by:

- Supervising visits between parents and children wh are nt currently living tgether due t prtectin cncerns.
- Interviewing, preparing family histries, assessing prblems, and utlining services prvided by Family Cnnectins.
- Develping and implementing supprtive interventins t assist in determining gals and the means f attaining them.
- Planning, preparing, and cnducting individual sessins with clients.
- Prviding life skills and psitive parenting training.
- Teaching clients effective scial and interpersnal skills thrugh tasks f daily living and scial activities.
- Cnnecting clients t resurces and having awareness f resurces in the cmmunity.
- Reprting and discussing case planning and cncerns t the Ministry f Children and Family Develpment (MCFD) staff.
- Maintaining a thrugh knwledge f cmmunity resurces.
- Prviding liaisn, educatin and advcacy t ther prfessinals, ther agencies and the cmmunity as required.

Our Offer

- Wage: $30.00 per hur.
- A full-time psitin at 35 hurs per week, availability Mndays t Fridays, frm 8:30 AM t 5:30 PM.

Getting an Interview – yu will be cnsidered if yu have:

- A degree in the human services field and related experience.
- Direct prgram delivery experience in the cmmunity scial services sectr with a demnstrated wrking knwledge f gvernment and cmmunity-based prgrams and related prvincial and cmmunity supprt systems.
- Fluency in bth English and Punjabi is an asset.

The Jb Als Requires yu t have:

- Strng rganizatinal and time management skills; ability t balance and manage cmpeting prjects and pririties and priritize wrklad t respnd t changing cnditins and deadlines.
- Strng skills with Micrsft Office 365, including Wrd, Excel, Outlk, and ability t use varius database prgrams.
- Skills in using virtual meeting platfrms including Micrsft Teams.
- Ability t navigate challenging cnversatins and sensitive tpics.
- Ability t wrk in a stressful envirnment, dealing with clients in crisis situatins. It is imprtant t knw when t seek supprt frm supervisrs r c-wrkers.
- Knwledge and ability t handle crisis situatins and de-escalate.
- Ability t maintain discretin and wrk with a high level f privacy and cnfidentiality.
- Skills at cmmunicating and presenting infrmatin t a variety f audiences in a clear, cncise, and effective way fr the purpses f reprt writing, facilitating meetings, grup sessins, and netwrking.
- Knwledge f effective caching, mentrship and relatinship building practices.
- Persnal maturity, sund judgment, self-mtivatin, empathy, and strng interpersnal skills.
- Ability t wrk effectively independently and with ther prgram staff, therapists, scial wrkers, and ther related staff.




- Ability t supervise and dcument visits between parents and children wh are in the care f the Ministry f Children and Family Develpment.
- Ability t wrk flexible wrk hurs t meet family's availability (evenings and weekends).
- Ability t have direct, in-persn cntact with n-site staff and clients; adherence t health and safety prtcls is required.
- Ability t wrk with challenging behaviurs- smetimes aggressive, with clients with cmplex needs.
- Valid BC Driver’s License with clean Driver’s Abstract and use f a persnal reliable vehicle.
- A valid First Aid certificate is a cnditin f emplyment.
- A satisfactry Criminal Recrds Check is a cnditin f emplyment.
