Athabasca County is currently accepting applications for a term, full-time Family School Liaison to join our FCSS team. Under the direction of the Wellness Team Lead, the Family School Liaison Worker provides services to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, their families, school staff, and the community to help improve the quality of the lives of students. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and motivated individual with previous experience supporting individuals and families facing multiple risk factors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provides services to students, including one-on-one supportive counseling sessions,



small group sessions, presentations, mediation, resource information, and referrals to other appropriate services.
- Provides services to adults with children or youth, including resource information, support through mediation or liaison support, family meetings, and referrals to other appropriate services.
- Provides services to school staff, including case conferencing, resource information, liaison support, and referrals to other appropriate services.
- Participates in on-going professional development through networking meetings, workshops, courses, and/or conferences to enhance and develop FSLW job skills and education.
- Provides services at schools and in the community as needed in Critical Incidents.
- Performs any other duties as required.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

- Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Education or Health Care is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in this field.
- Current/updated Suicide Intervention and Standard First Aid and CPR.
- A clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Population Check from the RCMP and a Child Intervention Record Check from Children and Family Services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Case management/qualified documentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and be detail orientated.
- Time management, goal setting, planning and implementation are key skills.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Applicant must have a reliable vehicle with business insurance, as this position involves travelling to schools and surrounding areas.

This is a 35-hour per week position with a flexible schedule to meet program needs. The schedule will be developed between the successful candidate and the supervisor. This position is a 20-month term with possibility of extension.

The annual salary range for this position is $62,621.76 - $78,326.62.
