Position Summary The General Laborer will work closely with our welder and shop team to assist with the preparation, movement, fabrication, and organization of materials and equipment. The successful candidate will help ensure that materials are properly prepared and available for welding and fabrication activities, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist the welder with day-to-day shop and fabrication activities

· Load, unload, move, and organize construction and fabrication materials

· Prepare materials for welding and fabrication, including measuring, cutting, grinding, cleaning, and positioning materials as directed

· Assist with setup up and breaking down work areas

· Hold, position, clamp, and secure material sunder the direction of the welder

· Operate basic hand and power tools as trained and authorized





· Assist with material handling and shop organization

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

· Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing materials

· Perform general labor and housekeeping duties throughout the shop

· Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices

· Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Report hazards, damaged equipment, and unsafe conditions to supervisor

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Previous construction, fabrication, shop, or general labor experience is considered an asset

· Previous experience assisting a welder is an asset but not required

· Ability to use basic hand and power tools, or willingness to learn

· Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements

· Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials

· Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods

· Ability to work effectively as part of a small team

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable

· Strong willingness to learn and take direction

· Good communication skills

· Positive attitude and strong work ethic

· Commitment to workplace health and safety

Job Types: Part Time, Permanent

Pay: $18.50-$42.00 per day
