We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Niagara Propagators. This role will be based at our Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario location. This is a role that requires the individual to work on-site.
The Greenhouse Supervisor plays a key role in supporting daily greenhouse operations by coordinating labour activities, monitoring performance, and ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This role works closely with management and other departments to meet production goals while fostering a positive, well-trained, and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze operational data to prepare detailed daily task lists.
- Assist in developing and managing daily labour schedules.
- Monitor greenhouse labour performance to ensure high work standards and productivity.
- Support a safe, clean, and legally compliant work environment.
- Maintain established methods to meet work schedules and coordinate activities with other departments.
- Identify and resolve workflow challenges; recommend improvements to productivity and product quality.
- Provide operational information to support production planning and achievement of production targets.
- Assist with training greenhouse staff and ensure expectations, procedures, and standards are clearly communicated and followed.
- Support employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying quality or productivity issues and developing practical solutions.
- Support the development of individual and team performance through ongoing coaching, training, and progressive counseling.
- Assist with booking transportation arrangements for workers as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field preferred (Horticulture or Agricultural Studies).
- 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in the greenhouse industry is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Excellent communication, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and stay focused under pressure.
- Ability to motivate team members and achieve positive performance outcomes.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Spanish is an asset.

Working Conditions

- Exposure to greenhouse environments, including heat, cold, and noise.
- Full-time hours based on business needs.
- Flexible scheduling required; start and end times may vary.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak production periods.
- Overtime may be required.
- Reliable personal transportation is required.
