The Handyman Network is seeking an experienced, dependable handyman to complete residential repair, maintenance, and improvement projects in Calgary and the surrounding area.

This opportunity is best suited to an established handyman or small contractor who has their own tools, vehicle, insurance, and the ability to complete projects independently.

Typical projects may include:

- Drywall installation and repair
- Taping, mudding, sanding, and painting
- Interior and exterior carpentry
- Door, trim, baseboard, and hardware installation
- Flooring and tile repairs
- Fence, gate, and deck repairs
- Caulking and weatherproofing
- Shelving, fixture, and television mounting
- Minor plumbing repairs within the contractor’s qualifications
- General home maintenance and miscellaneous repairs

Project assignments will depend on the contractor’s skills, experience, availability, and preferred service area. Contractors are not expected to accept work outside their qualifications.

Responsibilities:

- Respond promptly to assigned customer inquiries
- Review project details and attend site visits when required
- Provide clear and accurate estimates
- Complete accepted projects professionally and efficiently
- Supply the tools and equipment required for the work
- Keep customers informed throughout the project
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Document completed work and report any project concerns




- Correct workmanship deficiencies for which the contractor is responsible
- Comply with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and licensing rules

Requirements:

- At least three years of professional residential repair, renovation, or construction experience
- Demonstrated ability in at least three common handyman service categories
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable work vehicle
- Own professional tools and equipment
- Smartphone with reliable phone and internet access
- Robust customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to estimate labour and material requirements accurately
- Ability to work independently and manage appointments responsibly
- References and examples or photographs of previous work
- Willingness to complete a background check

This is an independent contractor opportunity. Contractors use their own tools and vehicle, control their availability, remain responsible for their own taxes and business expenses, and may perform work for other customers or companies.
