With field operations in Alberta, we deliver production of approximately 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent/day.

We are searching for an eager HSSE Summer Student. Reporting to the Director, Health, Safety, Security, and Workplace, the HSSE student will support our corporate HSSE functions, including management system support, office safety program, documentation reviews, updates, and communications. The student would also have an opportunity to meet and work with our field HSSE team to understand their roles and how they relate to supporting safe operations at TAQA North.

This opportunity would allow a student entering the field of HSSE to gain a systems perspective when it comes to safety and experience the application within a field environment.

This is a summer student position based out of Calgary, working from our office 5 days per week with occasional field travel to Alberta facilities. This position is full-time from May to August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

- Supporting various programs within the HSSE corporate department including documentation reviews and updates, supporting campaigns and new initiatives, managing special projects and day-to-day tasks.
- Assist in the development and roll-out of programs, policies, processes, and processes that are in place.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, ensuring effective processes are in place,



and provide guidance on HSE topics to help support operations
- Maintaining documentation in Bookshelf and support the redevelopment on the HSSE SharePoint site
- Attend monthly safety meetings in field
- Other tasks as required from the HSSE team

Key Skills
- Strong safety mindset with a proactive approach to identifying hazards and promoting a secure work setting.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ownership of work, with a robust focus on delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
- Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency Management, Environmental Science/Management, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety Engineering or a related degree program




- Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
- Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
- Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 4-month work term
- Ability and willingness to travel to Alberta field locations for primarily day trips and occasional overnight visits.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) preferred
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
