Fairview is looking for a Hose Assembler to join our Edmonton team on a full-time contract basis, starting as soon as possible and running through February 26, 2027.
For more than 50 years, Fairview has grown from a local distributor into a trusted manufacturer and distributor serving customers across North America. Our products support a wide range of industries, including industrial, hydraulics, trucking, automotive, plumbing and gas controls.
As a Hose Assembler, you will play an important role in producing quality hose assemblies that our customers rely on. This is a hands-on position where attention to detail, quality workmanship and safety are key.
Whether you already have manufacturing experience or are looking to build your skills in a production environment, this is an opportunity to learn, contribute and gain valuable experience with an established organization.
What you will do
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for producing high quality hose assemblies while following established specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Following production orders and selecting the correct components from inventory
- Cutting hose to the required length
- Assembling the appropriate fittings and components
- Crimping fittings onto hose according to established crimp specifications
- Skiving hose as required
- Operating hose cutting, crimping and testing equipment
- Performing visual inspections of completed hose assemblies
- Completing pressure testing and other required quality checks
- Testing, labeling and recording CSA approved hose assemblies as required
- Recording non ULC hose assemblies for inventory and record keeping purposes
- Labeling and packaging completed hose assemblies
- Completing inventory adjustments and production records
- Performing routine equipment and maintenance checks
- Keeping hose, materials, equipment and work areas organized
- Following all company health and safety requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work environment
- Performing other duties as required
What you bring We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail oriented and takes pride in doing quality work. The ideal candidate will have:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing, production, mechanical or hands on experience is an asset
- Willingness to learn how to operate hose cutting,
crimping and testing equipment
- Intermediate math skills and comfort working with measurements
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP
- Previous hose or industrial product knowledge is an asset
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
