Overview

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Income Tax Preparer to join our team. In this role, you will assist clients in preparing and filing their income tax returns accurately and efficiently. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with tax laws while delivering exceptional service that keeps our clients coming back year after year.

Duties

- Prepare individual and small business income tax returns using various accounting software such as TaxCycle, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other bookkeeping tools
- Analyze financial documents, including income statements, expense reports, and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the correctness of financial data before filing
- Assist clients with understanding their tax obligations and provide recommendations for tax savings or deductions




- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal filing strategies
- Support clients with related financial services such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounts payable management, budgeting, and investment analysis
- Collaborate with team members to review audit trails and perform internal audits when necessary

Qualifications
- Proven experience with tax or accounting software such as TaxCycle or other related tax programs, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Microsoft EXCEL, Word or similar platforms
- Strong analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately
- Knowledge of auditing procedures and financial compliance standards
- Familiarity with bookkeeping practices including accounts payable, account reconciliation, payroll processing, and budgeting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients
- Prior experience in tax preparation, financial services or accounting is preferred but not required
