BMS Energietechnik AG is a Swiss technology company specializing in highly effective eXergie Booster Heat Pump systems for heating and cooling applications. BMS is establishing its North American manufacturing and service operation in Brossard, QC, where it will manufacture and commission industrial heat pump systems for the Canadian and U.S. markets.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician / Frigoriste to become a key technical specialist for the refrigeration circuits of BMS industrial Booster Heat Pump systems.

This is a hands-on opportunity to join a growing technology company at an early stage of its North American expansion. The role is primarily factory-based and focuses on the assembly, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of sophisticated refrigeration equipment, with opportunities to participate in field commissioning and, over time, service activities in Canada and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble and install industrial refrigeration circuits.
- Test, commission and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
- Work with compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, variable-frequency drives, sensors and control systems.
- Perform refrigeration piping and brazing.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection and vacuum/evacuation.
- Charge and recover refrigerants.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Support field commissioning and future service activities.
- Take responsibility for the refrigeration side of production.

Required Qualifications





- Quebec SF-1 Refrigeration Certificate (not a must but nice to have)
- Quebec environmental qualification for halocarbons.
- Several years of practical refrigeration experience.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration circuits.
- Experience with refrigeration piping and brazing.
- Experience with pressure testing and leak detection.
- Experience with vacuum/evacuation and refrigerant charging/recovery.
- Ability to commission and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
- Basic electrical and controls knowledge.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Valid driver's licence.

Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is an advantage:

- Industrial refrigeration.
- Industrial heat pumps.
- Systems in the 50–200+ kW range.
- R134a and R513A refrigerants.
- R290/propane refrigeration.
- Danfoss refrigeration components or VFDs.
- PLC-controlled systems.
- Variable-speed compressors and VFD technology.
- Commissioning.
- Manufacturing environments rather than exclusively field service.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced frigoriste who is technically curious, hands-on and comfortable working with sophisticated machinery. You should be able to work independently, troubleshoot methodically, work safely and learn new technologies. This role is suited to someone who wants to take ownership of the refrigeration function within a growing manufacturing operation and develop beyond repetitive service work.
