Position: Computer & Information Systems Manager
Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $70–$130/hour
Location: Remote
About the Opportunity micro1 is engaging experienced Computer & Information Systems Managers to contribute to a customer initiative focused on technology management, project leadership, and operational execution.
In this role, you will apply your real-world experience leading technology initiatives to help train next-generation AI systems. The engagement focuses on planning and executing a limited-scope technology initiative, coordinating external vendors, managing project participants, monitoring SLAs, resolving challenges, and communicating project progress to diverse stakeholders .
No prior AI experience is required. Your practical expertise in technology management, leadership, vendor oversight, and project decision-making is what matters.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans for focused technology initiatives, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee external technology vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor vendor deliverables against established Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and agreed performance standards.
- Manage project participants and cross-functional teams, promoting effective collaboration and accountability.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, conflicts, and operational challenges and facilitate timely resolution.
- Make informed decisions to keep initiatives aligned with objectives, timelines, scope, and available resources.
- Track project progress and evaluate whether deliverables meet established quality and performance standards.
- Prepare concise and actionable status reports covering progress, risks, issues, decisions, and outcomes.
- Communicate project updates effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Produce clear project documentation and executive-level reporting where required.
- Provide real-world insights and feedback that help improve AI models trained on technology management and project leadership scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Significant professional experience leading technology projects or initiatives with responsibility for planning, execution, and results.
- Strong team management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Practical experience coordinating and managing external technology vendors.
- Strong understanding of SLAs, vendor performance, and service delivery management .
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions in complex project environments.
- Strong project planning, organization, and risk-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex project information into explicit updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project requirements independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience leading multi-quarter technology initiatives with end-to-end ownership.
- Proven experience managing projects from initial planning through vendor coordination, execution, and results delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise in team management, cross-functional leadership, and conflict resolution.
- Experience managing, negotiating with,
and evaluating external technology providers.
- Strong familiarity with establishing, monitoring, and enforcing SLAs .
- Experience producing executive-level reports, project documentation, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience contributing to technology adoption, process improvement, or operational transformation initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage complex deliverables in a remote environment.
