ABOUT US

At Alooki Technology Inc., we design cutting-edge AI and machine vision systems that transform how seafood and poultry processors operate. From smart cameras and advanced sensors to full control systems, our technology runs right on production floors to maximize yield, quality, and inspection visibility. Based in Newfoundland, our tight-knit, collaborative team takes tech straight out of the lab and deploys it live in real world environments.

When you join us, your contributions make a direct, visible impact every single day.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to kickstart your career in industrial automation? We’re looking for a hands-on Instrumentation Controls Technician to help assemble, deploy, and maintain the hardware and machine vision tech driving our solutions. Split your time between hands-on assembly and testing in our Mount Pearl lab and deploying systems on-site at active client processing facilities.

If you have a robust background in electrical, mechanical, or industrial trades and a passion for technology, we will train you on the rest! You don't need to be an expert in PLCs or machine vision on day one—just bring your problem-solving skills, comfort with tools and wiring, and an eager drive to learn.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Build & Test: Assemble, wire, and test advanced automation and machine vision hardware in our Mount Pearl lab prior to deployment.
- Deploy On-Site:

Travel to client seafood and poultry processing plants to install, commission, and start up state-of-the-art equipment.
- Troubleshoot & Service: Provide hands-on field support, diagnosing and repairing sensors, cameras, wiring, control panels, and mechanical components.
- Work with Technical Schematics: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment blueprints.
- Grow Automation Skills: Perform entry-level PLC and control-system work under the mentorship of senior engineers and technicians.
- Maintain High Performance: Calibrate and maintain sensors, cameras, lighting units, and optical system components for optimal accuracy.
- Document Service Activity: Keep precise records of installation work, preventative maintenance, and follow-up technical tasks.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Strictly adhere to food safety protocols (GMP, sanitation, WHMIS) and facility safety standards while on site.
- Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear communication with client plant personnel and internal team members on operational status.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

- A natural aptitude and passion for learning automation, controls, and machine vision systems.
- A solid foundation in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, or industrial trades (diploma/certificate, active apprenticeship, or hands-on experience).

- Hands-on experience with hand/power tools and basic schematic reading ability.
- Strong analytical and methodical troubleshooting skills.
- A valid driver's license and readiness to travel regularly to customer facilities.
- Comfort working in food production plant environments (wet floors, cold conditions, required PPE).
- Physical mobility to lift, bend, stand, and climb while servicing equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong, team-oriented team mindset.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

- Prior exposure to PLC platforms (Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience working within food processing or seafood industrial settings.
- Active First Aid / WHMIS certifications.
- Red Seal apprenticeship credits (Industrial Electrician, Instrumentation & Control Technician, etc.).

WHAT WE OFFER

- Direct Mentorship & Growth: Direct 1-on-1 mentorship from experienced engineers to accelerate your career into control systems and automation.
- Flexible Work Options: Hybrid work structure balanced between lab assembly, field deployment, and flexible tasks.
- Total Rewards: Competitive overall compensation package along with comprehensive medical and health benefits.

Great technology starts with a great team culture. At Alooki Technology Inc., we foster an environment where every individual feels supported, valued, and energized by our shared mission. As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and are dedicated to creating an inclusive, respectful space for everyone to thrive.
