This role bridges Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project teams to ensure systems are delivered on scope, on time, and to a high standard of performance and reliability.

The Integration Specialist combines hands-on technical integration with system-level thinking. They contribute throughout the project lifecycle—from interpreting requirements and supporting design concepts to system assembly, validation, troubleshooting, documentation, and post-deployment support. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who can work across mechanical, electrical, and software-related system elements and help translate design intent into practical, production-ready solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in translating customer, business, and project requirements into practical system configurations and technical solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions across departments to ensure alignment on specifications, interfaces, risks, and deliverables.
- Contribute to design improvement initiatives focused on reliability, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

System Integration & Build

- Mechanically and technically integrate system components in accordance with engineering documentation, specifications, and production requirements.
- Configure, assemble, and prepare systems for testing, validation, and shipment.
- Support final system configuration, identifying and recommending hardware or software adjustments where needed.
- Develop, build, and maintain tools, fixtures, jigs, and equipment required to support integration and testing activities.

Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting

- Set up, test, and troubleshoot integrated systems to confirm they function as intended and meet technical and quality standards.
- Support prototype, system-level, and production testing activities, working closely with Engineering and Quality Control.
- Identify issues, root causes, and corrective actions during integration and validation stages.
- Help refine systems through feedback, troubleshooting results, and continuous improvement efforts.

Project & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Shipping, and Service teams to support successful project execution.
- Help manage technical priorities, interfaces, and risks throughout the design, integration, and deployment lifecycle.
- Support adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget by flagging technical concerns early and helping identify practical solutions.
- Act as a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure system requirements and build expectations are clearly understood.

Documentation & Quality

- Maintain accurate and complete records related to system integration, testing,

validation, and configuration, including test certificates, engineering test plans, as-built documentation, and timesheets.
- Ensure all work complies with internal procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable technical specifications.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and technical documents.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of work instructions, technical procedures, and documentation.

Training, Safety & Continuous Improvement

- Train and support team members on standard and custom assemblies, production best practices, documentation, and safe work procedures.
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve products, workflows, tools, and system performance.
- Apply technical knowledge and industry best practices to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

- Deliver high-quality, reliable systems that meet functional and operational requirements.
- Ensure effective integration of mechanical, electrical, and software-related components.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness in system documentation and test records.
- Support on-time delivery through efficient integration, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Contribute to product and process improvements that enhance quality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Uphold safety, compliance, and quality standards in all aspects of work.

Qualifications & Experience

- 2-Year Engineering or Technical Degree with minimum 4 years of experience in system assembly, integration, testing, manufacturing support, or a related technical role; 4 year degree preferred.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and software-integrated systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience using hand and power tools, including soldering, crimping, torquing, and other assembly/integration tools.
- Understanding of electrical safety, ESD practices, and general manufacturing safety procedures.
- Experience supporting custom systems, prototypes, or engineered products is an asset.
- Experience in robotics or automated systems is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
