Take the Opportunity
We are looking for an individual who can provide expertise to support and coordinate monitoring, assessment, remediation and reclamation programs throughout Northern BC. To be successful you must be a strong communicator and collaborator who works well with others and applies practical, creative solutions when problem solving.
In this role, you will be a part of the Environmental Consulting team, based in the Fort St. John office and will have the ability to work with a great team. This position includes regular field work throughout northern BC. Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel when project schedules require it.
Make a Difference
- Lead field execution and support project delivery for environmental assessment, remediation, and reclamation work, while working with project managers and technical advisors on scope, schedule, budget, interpretation, and reporting.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, while fostering continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory and external client requirements.
- Lead field activities for Stage I and Stage II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Detailed Site Investigations including field preparation, sampling coordination, documentation and communication with the project team.
- Collaborate with team to execute assessment, remediation and reclamation projects in Northern BC.
- Coordinate and complete vegetation management and reclamation assessments assessing landscape, soils and vegetation.
- Track assigned project schedules and budgets and communicate changes promptly to the project manager.
- Create reclamation work plans and reclamation reporting.
- Work with technical advisors to Interpret analytical results and complete project reporting.
- Lead and champion a culture of excellence, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of health, safety, and quality across all areas of operation.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, while fostering continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory and external client requirements.
Showcase your Education & Expertise
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in science or land reclamation
- 3+ year’s field experience with environmental site assessments, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, site remediation and reclamation
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and guidelines
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and technical writing skills
- Registration with,
or eligibility to register with a professional body in British Columbia (for example BCIA, EGBC)
- Driven by obsession of excellence and deep sense of accountability
- Emphasis on team accomplishments over individual success
- Keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated cost control processes
- A strong team player who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and sharing knowledge.
