Context The Structural Engineer will support the Stops & TPSS scope by producing and coordinating architectural documentation for transit facilities. The role focuses on preparing consistent drawing packages across multiple locations while adapting corridor-wide standards to site-specific conditions.

Missions/Main Duties

- Design Coordination: Collaborate directly with the Structural Lead to perform and verify structural calculations, design framing systems, platform slabs, deep/shallow foundations, and equipment pad foundations.
- Interface Alignment: Coordinate structural interfaces with adjacent disciplines, including Architectural, Civil/Roadway, Trackwork, Geotechnical, Electrical/Power Supply, and Utility teams.
- Deliverable Production: Prepare and review structural design briefs, calculation packages, technical specifications, and drawing sets (from preliminary concepts to Issued for Construction).
- BIM & Model Reviews: Work alongside BIM/CAD teams to ensure structural models accurately reflect design calculations and clear interdisciplinary spatial clashes.
- Quality & Compliance: Conduct internal design checks, participate in Interdisciplinary Design Reviews (IDR),



and ensure designs strictly comply with project quality standards and client design criteria.

Profile/Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
- Professional Registration: Registered Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (or eligible for immediate registration) with PEO or equivalent provincial engineering association is not required but preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience, with a proven track record in transit facilities, light rail infrastructure, industrial buildings, or heavy civil structures.
- Technical Standards: Strong working knowledge of Canadian/Ontario structural design codes (OBC, CSA A23.3 Concrete, CSA S16 Steel, CSA S6 Bridge Code where applicable), and familiarity with transit standards (e.g., Metrolinx Design Standards, NFPA 130).
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, SAFE, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro) and working knowledge of BIM/Revit workflows
