Overview

Join our dynamic team as an IT Generalist and become a vital contributor to our technology infrastructure! Primarily, your expertise in a Microsoft environment will support our network administration team and you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our IT environment, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms and systems.

Additionally, as a medium sized company, there will be an opportunity to have an impact on our entire Information System strategy, including SQL report writing to extract information from the system, serve as the primary administrator for our Base44 app and angular development. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate looking for a position with a vast array of Information Systems experience.

Responsibilities

1. Network Administration

- Maintain server updates, and ensure 100% uptime
- Manage daily, weekly, monthly, backup cycles for databases, mailboxes and file servers
- Virus scanning and remediation of virus situations.
- Web server administration
- Desktop support for internal staff including printers, fax, and phone systems
- Email, network, and internet connectivity troubleshooting.
- Manage phone IVR system
- Maintain security the Network and set up appropriate firewalls

Systems

- Ability to work in a Windows environment
- An understanding of the Microsoft active directory security model
- Understanding of internet protocols technologies, firewalls, Transmission control protocols and related Hardware

3. Software

- Proficient with MS SQL and Access databases
- Knowledge of Base44 would be an asset
- Adobe and Microsoft Publisher
- File transfer protocol
- Basic programing knowledge would be an asset, specifically in Angular

4. Reporting

- Ability to write and distribute report from MS SQL Server using SSRS (Microsoft Reporting Service) and Crystal Reports.
- Ability to integrate database reports into Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and MS Access. Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel experience would be an asset.
- Ability to work within Persits PDF platform ensuring programmed reports and forms are presented professionally.




- Basic experience in graphic manipulation especially for web systems would be an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

5. Collaboration

- Work closely with the Administration, Claims, Sales, Accounting and Marketing teams to ensure our in house database and third party software reflect the business requirements and needs of the company;
- Eagerness to learn and ability show patience when working with all members of the organization
- Ability to manage a project list and set priorities as part of a project team using a shared project management tool such as Asana.
- Contribute to the database and programming aspects of projects and business plans;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Team and Information Technology Team.
- Reports directly to the CFO

Experience & Skills

- Post-secondary education in Information Systems or the equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Microsoft Certifications are an asset
- Microsoft, network-vendor licensing and software acquisition.
- Windows Server 2012-2016 and related Enterprise applications
- MS Exchange and MS SQL Server administration
- MS IIS and Apache webservers. Additional Wordpress administration preferred.
- XENServer virtualization platform experience (preferred).
- Windows 7 operating systems. How to troubleshoot, use control panel, add/remove programs, troubleshooting Windows Updates.
- Network security devices and protocols configuration and support.
- Fundamental network protocols (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, LAN and WAN design, etc.).
- Knowledge of Angular development would be an assert




- Asterisk VIP telephony server. Managed by FreePBX
- Server peripheral hardware (UPS, backup drives, KVM/vKVM, etc.).
- Troubleshooting networks.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
