Are you our next IT Support Technician (Onsite)?
We are seeking a motivated IT Support Technician to provide onsite, frontline IT support to our staff. This role is well suited to an early-career IT professional who enjoys helping users, troubleshooting common hardware and software issues, resolving support tickets, assisting with account access, supporting printers and workstations, and escalating more complex issues when needed. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, and common business applications in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, timely, and professional frontline IT support to office and remote staff.
- Respond to support requests related to Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, email, common business applications, and basic workstation issues.
- Assist users with account access, password resets, login issues, and basic system navigation.
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, scanner, monitor, docking station, keyboard, mouse, and connectivity issues.
- Set up and support standard desktop equipment, including workstations, laptops, monitors, phones, and related office peripherals.
- Assist with new hire IT onboarding by preparing equipment, basic user setup, and first-day technology support.
- Use the service desk system to receive, document, prioritize, update, and close support tickets.
- Escalate issues to the IT Manager or appropriate support resource when problems require additional assistance.
- Maintain clear notes, troubleshooting steps, and user-facing support documentation.
- Follow established IT procedures and contribute suggestions for improving day-to-day support processes.
What You Bring:
- Education, training, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Systems, technical support, or a related discipline.
- Entry-level experience providing user support, customer service, or hands-on help with computer applications and technology; 1-2 years of frontline IT support experience is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, email, basic workstation hardware, printers, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with ticketing or service desk systems is considered an asset; exposure to ITIL-based service desk practices is also considered an asset.
- Ability to listen carefully, ask good questions, follow procedures, and use practical judgment when troubleshooting user issues.
- Ability to explain basic technical steps clearly and patiently to non-technical users.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail in ticket notes and follow-up.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, professionalism, and a customer-service focused approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team while learning new systems and improving support skills.
