CARPENTER
Sure-Form Contracting Ltd. is seeking hardworking and dependable individuals for full-time employment as Carpenters for an upcoming construction project in the Lac La Biche region.
Preference will be given to local candidates.
This position is well suited to experienced carpenters with a background in commercial construction, concrete, formwork, light industrial construction, or general construction who are comfortable working in a hands-on, multi-discipline setting.

The Role
As a Carpenter with Sure-Form, you will be responsible for performing and supporting a variety of construction activities, with a strong focus on concrete and formwork construction.
Typical responsibilities may include
- Constructing, erecting, installing, and stripping concrete formwork
- Working with handset, gang-form, snap-tie, and shoring systems
- Assisting with concrete layout, elevations, embeds, blockouts, and openings
- Installing reinforcing-related accessories, embeds, waterstops, and miscellaneous concrete items
- Assisting with concrete placement, finishing support, curing, and protection
- Performing general carpentry and commercial construction activities
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Completing basic layout and measurements
- Using hand tools, power tools,
and construction equipment safely and effectively
- Operating light-duty equipment where qualified, including skid steers and telehandlers
- Assisting with material handling, site organization, and housekeeping
- Working alongside labourers, equipment operators, mechanical trades, and other site personnel
- Supporting foremen and supervision with safe and efficient execution of the work
- Following site-specific safety requirements and Sure-Form’s HSE program
Qualifications and Requirements The successful candidate should have:
- Minimum 5 years of recent carpentry or relevant construction experience
- Journeyman Carpenter certification is preferred, but experienced non-ticketed carpenters will also be considered
- Strong experience in concrete, formwork, commercial, light industrial, or institutional construction
- Experience with gang-form systems, handset snap-tie formwork, and Aluma shoring considered a strong asset
- Ability to read construction drawings and follow layout information
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline construction environment
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to take direction and work independently when required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move construction materials
- Strong familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong commitment to safety and Sure-Form’s safety culture
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Reliable transportation to the project site
HSE Certifications The following certifications are required or considered assets:
- CSTS
- Fall Protection
- Elevated Work Platform / Aerial Work Platform
- Rigging – Preferred
- Telehandler – Preferred
- Confined Space Entry – Preferred
- H2S Alive – Preferred
- First Aid – Considered an asset
- WHMIS – Considered an asset
